Visit to Monte Selvagem 2017

Hi all,

So yesterday we decided to visit Monte Selvagem once again as we've been there a number f times before.  They have added some new attractions and yesterday was a day when a lot of schools chose to visit too but it wasn't overcrowded as one might have expected ;)  Have a look at their site http://monteselvagem.pt/
The park is in lavre in the Montemor-o-Novo municipality and Évora district. It's an animal reserve with 20 a that combines biodiversity, a leisure park and a pedagogical project to discover.  The private park was inaugurated on May 8, 2004 and houses 60 species, a total of about 350 animals.  It's open to the public during 9 months of the year, from february to October.  Built and managed under principles of environmental consistency and sustainability, it has no animal from its natural habitat and is an example in reducing the consumption of new raw materials.  Its mission is to provide alternative habitats for the animals that need them and to promote the contact of people with nature, to protect, to conserve and to educate for its sustainability.  At Monte Selvagem you can enjoy unique moments in nature!  As a result of the dream of a daring family and the dedicated work of a multidisciplinary technical team, qualified from the natural science to humanities.  Monte Selvagem is one of the sought after tourist destinations in the region and was awarded in 2012 by the Tourism Authority of Alentejo - ERT, the destinction of Best Enterprise of Tourist Animation of the Alentejo.             Prices and visiting hours:  Monte Selvagem is open to the public from February 1st.                   Schedules:  February to March:  10am to 5pm
